Frequently asked questions!

  1. What makes your Wedding Video Moments service different to traditional Wedding Videography?
Traditional wedding videography is mostly choreographed and delivered in a curated and movie-like style, usually with added cinematic effects and background romantic music. It often involves a lot of posing, special setups/equipment, two or more video camera operators, and many hours of editing afterward. Thus it can be rather expensive $$$.
Wedding Video Moments involves mostly no posing, no cinematic effects, no highlight reels, and no added background music. Instead you get a set of video clips (typically 30 seconds to 5 minutes long) recorded in a candid and documentary style, featuring all the fun, upfront and behind-the-scenes action, drama, special parts, and so much more! Plus you can also have the ceremony and speeches recorded in full!

  2. But won’t my guests just take videos with their phones?
Yes, they sometimes will, but most likely the quality (especially the audio) will be poor quality and usually taken from bad positions and/or angles, not to mention bad light. You can’t really rely on your guests to capture all that much, and then you’ll have to ask them for it all after your wedding.

  3. Where are the Wedding Video Moments stored?
All the videos are edited and are uploaded to a FREE ‘Digital Wedding Album’ ($550 value) that every couple gets. They are easily accessed and playable on any device, and can all be downloaded and shared via a password-protected link.

  4. What is the video and audio quality like?
I use small to medium size action cameras that record in 4K. The resulting video is good quality and is edited/colour graded afterward in professional video software. Each video clip is optimised and suitable for uploading to social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook if you choose to do so. Additionally for the audio during the ceremony and speeches I use professional mics placed in various locations.

  5. What about privacy?
I do not record anything inappropriate, and I always respect privacy. All the editing is done by myself here in Melbourne. I do not outsource the editing process to places in India or China like so many other wedding videographers do these days. Thus, yours and also your guests privacy is fully protected.

  6. Do you record every single moment that happens during a whole wedding day?
Unfortunately no, that is impossible because weddings are filled with thousands of moments, and no-one person can be everywhere at the same time. I aim to record as much of the major events as possible, plus a lot more that goes on behind the scenes as well as some details where applicable.

  7. Do we get a cinematic highlight video set to beautiful music?
No, please read FAQ #1 above.

  8. How many Wedding Video Moments do we get?
This will largely depend on how many hours I am at your wedding, the number of guests, and what is going on. As a ballpark figure, you will get at least 15 to 25+ video clips that are typically each 30 seconds to 5+ minutes long. Ceremony and speeches video will of course be longer in duration.

  9. What is the cost?
This is the good news - Wedding Video Moments are very cost effective, especially when combined with one of my wedding photography packages, from just $500. Or the service is also available by itself from only $800.
