Alan Rogers Bio

With every wedding or event I photograph I bring along over 40 years of photographic experience for my clients. I have seen almost everything... and with all that exposure I have learnt to anticipate, and expertly capture what unfolds in front of me.

My current style of Wedding Photography is known as 'Wedding Photojournalism' and I am truly honoured to be accepted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), an International, membership-based organization representing professional photographers skilled in the documentation of weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style.

From The Past

This black and white image is one I took almost 40 years ago, in a Melbourne CBD street much like any other. An old homeless man who was sitting all alone. When I later developed the film in my darkroom (no digital in those days), I realised I had frozen in time a period of a mans life, and it suddenly dawned on me the enormous power that a photograph can have to record life and to evoke emotion in the viewer, which in this case for me was one of sadness. The photograph won an award, and as a proud teenager it paved the way for my life long journey into photography.

ALAN's Family

The Rogers Family

As a Father myself of four beautiful and amazing children (ages 25, 23, 17 and 8) I understand how at the end of the day my photographic sessions are really just all about love and family, and how important it is for each family to have their special moments captured and recorded as if they were my own.

A perfect image is a perfect moment, captured.™
