Video Moments FAQ’s

  • Can you explain more why your Video Moments service is different from traditional Wedding Videography?
Traditional Wedding Videography is mostly choreographed and delivered in a more curated and movie-like style, usually with added cinematic effects and romantic music. The traditional approach often involves a lot of posing, special setups/equipment, two or more video camera operators, and hours of editing afterward. All of this can also make it very expensive.
My Video Moments service is different because you will receive a set of video clips (typically 10 seconds to 5 minutes long) recorded in a candid and documentary style, featuring all the fun, upfront and behind-the-scenes action, drama, special parts, and so much more! There is no posing or cinematic effects, and no added music.

  • >>> Do you take video of the full wedding ceremony and all the reception speeches? <<<
No, only some portions. This is because full-length video of the entire ceremony and speeches later on in the day requires larger cameras (usually placed on tripods), and audio microphones attached to the couples and/or celebrant/bridal party. All of that tech needs to be constantly monitored by one or more dedicated video operators. . Instead, you will get snippets and highlights of these parts.

  • Won’t my guests do some video with their phones?
Yes, they sometimes will, but most likely the quality (including audio) will be poor and usually taken from bad positions and/or angles, not to mention poor light. You can’t really rely on your guests to capture all that much, and then you’ll have to ask for it all after your wedding.

  • Where are the Video Moments stored?
All the Video Moments, after editing, are uploaded to a FREE ‘Digital Wedding Album’ ($550 value) that every couple gets. They are easily played on any device and can all be downloaded and shared via a password-protected link.

  • What is the video quality like?
To quickly capture as much as possible, I use smaller action cameras that record in HD and 4K. The resulting video is of good quality and edited/colour graded afterward in professional video software. The Video Moments are suitable for uploading to social media platforms such as YouTube and Facebook if you choose to do so..

  • What about privacy?
I do not record anything inappropriate, and I always respect privacy. Additionally, all the editing is done by myself in my own office here in Melbourne, and is never seen by anyone else. I do not outsource the editing process to places in India or China like so many other wedding photographers/videographers do these days. Thus, your privacy is fully protected.

  • Do you record every single moment that happens during a whole wedding day?
Unfortunately, that is impossible because weddings are filled with thousands of moments, and I can’t be everywhere at the same time. I aim to record as much of the major events as possible, plus a lot more that goes on behind the scenes as well as some details where applicable.

  • Do we get a cinematic highlight video set to beautiful music?
    No, as mentioned above.

  • How many Video Moments do we get?
This will largely depend on how many hours I am at your wedding, the number of guests, and what is going on. As a ballpark figure, you will get at least 20 to 50+ video clips that are typically 30 seconds to 5+ minutes long.

  • What is the cost?
Video Moments are very cost effective when combined with one of my wedding photography packages. The service is also available by itself. See the pricing page for more details.
